TLab Change Packages

What is a Change Package?

The purpose of a change package is to document the activities and results of an improvement project that enables others working on a similar problem to learn and accelerate their progress towards a similar goal.  A campus team or group of teams are ready to document their work in a Change Package when they have made measurable progress towards their aim and have high confidence that one or more of their interventions will be successful if tried elsewhere.1

Cohort 1 teams used a template modified from a New Zealand Early Childhood improvement effort called Ko Awatea This link will take you to an external website in a new tab. to document their successful practices in the pages that follow. Moving forward, the package is meant to be a living document that is amended as the original campus team continues to scale their improvements or another Lab team utilizes it in their context.

The design of the work of CTEPP is driven by a theory of improvement as represented in the driver diagram linked below. This visual represents the ultimate outcome we hope to achieve and the KTEs as the primary drivers we theorize will help us get there. While this is a high-level view of the working theory, each campus team develops their own theory and measurable aim which is nested within this larger theory as part of their TLab work. You will see these local theories illustrated in their Change Packages.

Some Guiding Questions As You Read

As you review these packages, you may wish to keep the following questions in mind:

  • Is this team tackling a similar equity challenge that you experience on your campus or in your role?
  • What inspires you about their work and how they went about it?
  • What might you try in your context?
  • What questions do you have about the improvements described here?

Contact information for each team can be found at the end of each campus report. Please reach out with your comments or questions to learn more.
