KTE 4: Providing Feedback on Prioritized Skills

Create a culture of feedback for teacher candidates that is data-driven, specific and actionable, featuring ongoing and coordinated inputs from CSU faculty, supervisors and teacher mentors to support candidates in practice of prioritized skills resulting in thorough preparation to teach in schools that serve students who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

Aim

By June 2023, CSUB TED and AES will be increasing the average completion rate for black candidates from 46% to 55% by supporting their successful completion of clinical requirements.

Key Leverage Areas Being Addressed

Team Bakersfield is testing new training and support processes for clinical supervision to ensure quality, timely feedback. This involves looking at the knowledge and dispositions of supervisors and how the Improvement Plan process is viewed and implemented.
